20-40%               Summary of Learning
10%                      Professionalism

Opportunities to Demonstrate Learning

1.   Evidence of Curriculum Understanding – Students will produce an artifact that demonstrates an understanding of the physical education curriculum at a specific grade level. (Thursday, March 8)
2.   Social Media and Blog Reflections – Students will create a personal blog as well as a Twitter account.  It is recommended that a blog is used to describe and reflect upon your experiences.  This blog along with Twitter will also act as an important communication tool.  Students should show evidence of: 1. Weekly reflections/responses of course activities, readings and presentations, 2. Interaction with other community members, 3. Sharing of discovered resources and/or tools. (ongoing through the semester)
3.   Summary of Learning - Students will produce an artifact (e.g., narrative, audio, video, concept map, other visual, etc.) that summarizes the learning experience in EPE 310. The artifact should reference particular course experiences (e.g., reflections, assessments, readings, networking, experimentation, etc.) that contributed to the greater understanding of elementary physical education. Students will present these artifacts the last day of the course (Thursday, April 5).
4.   Professionalism - The purpose of awarding achievement marks for professionalism is to emphasize the importance of practising and nurturing these qualities as part of your preparation for a career in education.   The criteria below are adapted from indicators included the Faculty of Education’s Internship Placement Profile (IPP) (Internship Field Manual, 2011) and the ECS 300 Teacher Field Manual (2011).  Similar indicators will be used by your cooperating teachers during your pre-internship and internship to evaluate your performance.  You will be asked to complete and submit a self evaluation that provides evidence of your professionalism in response to the criteria below the week of April 5th.
